
The drag performer Bianca Castro-Arabejo, known professionally as Jiggly Caliente, passed away at the age of 44, according to statements from her family.
The artist, who gained recognition during the show's fourth season on RuPaul's Drag Race, underwent an amputation of part of her leg on Thursday due to a severe infection.
Caliente has previously been a judge for the Philippine version of the show and was also featured in the popular American TV series Pose.
Her family released a statement on Instagram saying: "With deep sadness, we share the news of the departure of Bianca Castro-Arabejo, who was widely recognized as Jiggly Caliente and loved dearly by countless fans."
They mentioned that Caliente passed away during the initial hours of Sunday morning, "with her loving family and close friends by her side."
The celebrity's relatives honored Caliente's "contagious spirit, sharp sense of humor, and steadfast genuineness," stating that she bequeathed a heritage marked by "affection, bravery, and illumination."
"She touched countless lives through her artistry, activism, and the genuine connection she fostered with fans around the world," they said.
Although she is physically absent, the happiness she spread and the environment she helped establish for countless people will endure indefinitely.
